Prediction Clemson in the upset over Miami

Miami can't afford a conference loss with the traffic jam at the top of the Coastal Division.Prediction: Clemson in the upset over Miami. Maryland DukeThis isn't exactly a marquee game. Maryland's weak showings in every game this season, save their 32 points against Wake Forest, and a much improved Duke offense should make this one an easy win for Duke. Duke is also playing to stay on the pile in the Coastal Division. Why Maryland will win:Maryland is desperate for another win. They tried to give away the Clemson game, but Clemson just wouldn't take it. Maryland will control the turnover battle and force errors out of Duke's offense. Why Duke will win: They nearly beat Virginia Tech a couple of weeks back, and will continue to show that their offense can be productive. The defense will be better about containing Maryland, because they've given up lots of points, even in their wins.Prediction: Duke by three scores. Florida State North CarolinaThe first Thursday night game in North Carolina's Kenan Stadium has lost a lot of its preseason luster. Both teams were expected to contend for their division titles, but instead they are both coming into the game looking for their first conference win.North Carolina started strong, but fell apart when conference play started and is looking to reassert themselves against the schizophrenic Seminoles. The Seminoles are coming off a bye week, which hopefully settled them down from all the rumors about their coach. They are off to their worst start since Bowden took the head coaching job there in 1976 and a loss here would bedevastating. Why Florida State will win: The emotions will still be on high alert for their coach. Christian Ponder has been incredibly productive, even though FSU's record doesn't show it. He will continue to show off his Heisman worthy throwing.

Florida State can easily handle North Carolina's turnover-prone offense. Why North Carolina will win: Florida State's defense can't stop even their sloppy offense. North Carolina's defense can and will step up and stop Florida State's offense with the home crowd cheering them on.Prediction: North Carolina adds another nail into Bowden's coaching career with a win in this close game. No. 12 Georgia Tech VirginiaGeorgia Tech hasn't won in Charlottesville since 1990. Georgia Tech has had four new coaches since that team went on to win the National Championship. Georgia Tech is wary of this game, because they were shocked at home last year by Virginia in a game they were predicted to win by double-digits. Virginia is looking to keep its positive trend going with a fourth straight win. Why Georgia Tech will win: Paul Johnson's Triple Option will be faster and stronger than Virginia's defense. Josh Nesbitt will keep the defense guessing with a few deep passes to Demarius Thomas. PARIS (Reuters Life!) - Dita von Teese, the raven-haired reincarnation of striptease artistes from 1940s America, is returning to one of the most famous nude revues in Paris, happy to be back in a city with a respect for her craft. Oddly Enough"I feel that Paris is a place that still appreciates its showgirls," she told Reuters in an interview before a two-week run at the celebrated Crazy Horse theater from February 1.Von Teese, a familiar figure at the Paris couture shows, has carved a peculiar niche over the years, leading the way as burlesque has grown from simple striptease to becoming an established part of the fashion world. Two years ago she emerged from a rhinestone-encrusted bubblebath as the first guest star at the Crazy Horse but the new show will have more specially designed numbers, including two songs she has recorded herself."I feel I have to raise the bar," she said. The Crazy Horse has been a Paris institution since 1951, regularly drawing celebrities like Madonna or fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier to see its dancers strut the stage in little more than fluorescent wigs and strobe lights."I've always had a real fascination with the Crazy Horse ever since I was a teenager and I found a picture of this line of nearly nude toy soldiers standing at attention," she said, referring to the trademark parade that opens the nightly show."I wanted to do something more elaborate this time," she said.

"Combine the Crazy Horse style with what I do which is classic American burlesque."VINTAGEInspired by the venerable names of stripping and pinup such as Gypsy Rose Lee and Bettie Page, she has an almost scholarly interest in the era of the 1930s and 1940s when the renowned Minsky's Burlesque ruled on Broadway. In person, a pale and softly spoken woman in an elegant green frock and carefully coiffed hair, Von Teese, born Heather Sweet, might have stepped from the pages of an old Life Magazine pictorial."Everything I do professionally comes from what my hobbies were, which was dressing in vintage clothes, driving in vintage cars, listening to retro music and reading about burlesque stars," she said. The distinctive look, which she maintains even when not performing, has always made her stand out but she said the attention had been a help in her stage life."I was so shy in other ways but I was never shy about that," she said. "For people to be looking at me because I was wearing an unusual hat or a strange dress and looking like I stepped off a movie set I've been used to that for my entire adult life."She has managed a delicate transition, taking on a glamorous allure that has elevated her from the gyrating ranks of laptop dancers but she says her style has actually changed little since she started almost 20 years ago."I started performing burlesque in 1991 and originally my audience was in strip clubs, pole dancing clubs, fetish clubs and I've watched the way it changed," she said, reclining in the armchair of a luxurious Paris hotel."I've been doing the same show all along but why has it become more fashionable It's interesting because I'm not the one that's changed."(Editing by Paul Casciato) Oddly Enough. The defense was devastating, the offense looked sharp, and it was clear the Browns were simply overmatched.Through five games, the Packers aren’t who we thought they were, but this Browns team may actually be worse than we thought they were. No, it won’t be a test for Green Bay heading into Judgment Week, but it should be the perfect tune-up.The quarterback situation in Cleveland is the worst in the NFL. By far.Derek Anderson is a shell of the quarterback who threw for 3,787 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2007. Josh Cribbs is an explosive return man, but a marginal receiver at best.
